We empower rural families to turn hunger and poverty into hope, dignity and prosperity – but our approach is based on revolving livestock model that leads to “Farm to Table” movement, where our beneficiaries break the vicious cycle of chronic poverty in just 18 months and are becoming the shareholders and long-term suppliers to AMDEN.

AMDEN is a social enterprise working in Pakistan with envisions to eradicating chronic poverty/hunger through agriculture based revolving livestock model based on “Fund to Table” approach. AMDEN invest in rural people, empowering them to reduce extreme poverty, increase food security, nutrition and strengthen resilience.

The poorest, chronically food insecure households, with irregular income and little or no assets are often excluded from development interventions including microcredit.

When they do receive assistance they are rarely able to improve their conditions enough to maintain long-term sustainable livelihoods. The AMDEN is a model combines support for immediate food consumption with revolving livestock asset base to kick start an economic activity and provides, skills training, market linkages to adopt value addition practices under value chain perspective. What We Do

Chronically poor households are identified and offered a base package of 3 goats and 10 poultry for farming along with seeds for organic kitchen gardening. In a time span of 18 months 5 goat off-springs and 15 poultry birds are recovered from each household and the base package is transferred to the household in the next cycle. The excess is sold to meet the operational cost of the program, making it self-sustainable. To facilitate this, members of the household are trained in goat farming, poultry farming and kitchen gardening.

After grading and packaging it is sold in the mass market with our brand name, with all the producers being the direct shareholders of AMDEN. So in this way, even after the recovery from the households, they become lifelong suppliers of their produce for AMDEN. Revolving Livestock-Changing Chronically Poor Lives

Chronically poor households are identified and offered a base package of 3 goats and 10 poultry for farming along with seeds for organic kitchen gardening. In a time span of 18 months 5 goat off-springs and 15 poultry birds are recovered from each household and the base package is transferred to the household in the next cycle.

After 18 months the household own about 13 goats (male, female & babies), 47 poultry birds and have organic vegetable in his/her house. In addition the beneficiary household sold out its organic produces e.g. goat milk, eggs, vegetable, chicken and mutton to AMDEN and turn into a long-term supplier and shareholder in the company.
